Hepatitis Control Program

The concept of this program is to give sufficient, affordable, accessible and high quality preventive and curative program for hepatitis control in AJK. The program is making arrangements of hepatitis B vaccination to all high risk groups as well as increasing awareness among the public by BCC. Poor and needy patients suffering from hepatitis B and C provided free of cost treatment facility at DHQHs level. According to Egyptian model “Prime Minister Program for Elimination of Hepatitis C” is being launched through umbrella PC.1 at Federal level. Target of this Program is to eliminate Hepatitis C from country by 2030.

Major Interventions of CDC

  • Diseases Surveillance of VBDs/Hepatitis/TB
  • Provision of free services regarding Diagnosis and Treatment of Malaria & TB all over the state
  • Launching of Larval Source reduction Campaign/Environmental Management especially during Dengue Season with the Collaboration of Line Departments
  • Behavior Change Communication (BCC) Campaign regarding Prevention & Control of Communicable Diseases
  • Provision of Long lasting Insecticide Treated Bed Nets (LLITNs) to Malaria & Dengue Patients free of cost
  • Larval Source Management (LSM)
  • Chemical Control of VBDs ( Indoor Residual Spray/Focal Spray
  • Fumigation in case of Outbreak of Dengue
